INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENT CIRCLE

Project Details

CLIENT
Indianapolis Department of Public Works

LOCATION
Indianapolis, IN

Monument Circle in Indianapolis sits at the heart of City Center, a bustling downtown space that’s home to shops, restaurants and hotels. The Department of Public Works wanted to renovate the circle and determine a long-term vision for the most important public space in the state of Indiana. Woolpert is performing data collection for existing features, including base historical and environmental data; automotive and pedestrian traffic counts; 3D laser scanning of the corridor, including design-quality survey; underground utility information; and specialty delivery routes, parking, valet and service vehicle movements. Using data collected from surrounding property owners and businesses and the general public, as well as concerns for security, maintenance and sustainability for long-term growth, we are developing three long-term concepts for the space, along with next-step recommendations.
